Know the school bus laws in Pennsylvania
August 22, 2019 | Category: News
It’s hard to believe that the school year is here. Most districts have hybrid schedules in Lehigh Valley, Pa. which means school buses are still rolling. Obviously, that means that there will be an increase in both foot and auto traffic in our local communities. Please adjust accordingly by giving yourself additional time to arrive at your destination, especially if you will be on the road during the early morning and late afternoon/early evening time frames when most students are getting dropped off or picked up.
You also want to be extra alert when driving through residential neighborhoods and keep an eye out for children going to and from bus stops. Our friends at the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation share a couple of school bus stopping laws that you should know. Read about them here.
Familiarize yourself, and any young drivers in your household, with the laws and avoid being convicted! Did you know the penalties could be a $250 fine, five points on your driving record, and a 60-day driver’s license suspension? Be smart out there and help save lives daily, just like us!
