Purpose

To supervise the Corp’s field operations and field associates.

Essential Job Functions

·         Assists in the development and implementation of obtainable goals and objectives as related to field operations.

·         Monitors and assists in the development of  workplace safety policies and procedures, assures compliance, and takes corrective action as needed to guarantee compliance.

·         Supervises the day-to-day field activities of operations to ensure compliance within Cetronia’s High Performance EMS standards. 

·         Establishes positive concepts and practices of teamwork.

·         Maintains daily records of all events and information occurring while on shift

·         Supervises and coordinates EMS activities required at multi unit, and/or muliti agency incidents

·         Provides individual guidance and direction to field crews on operational matters, procedures and practices, including associate counseling and disciplinary actions.

·         Coordinates replacements of absent crewmembers and prevents lost unit hours

·         Coordinates fleet replacement and out-of-service ambulances as appropriate to ensure resource availability.

·         Investigates, documents and remediates service inquiries, incident reports, accidents and injuries.  

·         Functionas as a liaison between field personnel and administration.

·         Provides the necessary assistance and support to ensure vehicle and equipment  sanitation, readiness and adherence to quality standards.

·         Participates in establishing quality improvement processes and provides oversight and guidance to the quality review process.

·         Evaluates assigned ALS, BLS, and Paratransit  personnel regarding job performance, work procedures and attendance.

·         Inspects crews, posts, quarters and ambulances to ensure conformance with Corps standards. 

·         Performs all of the above functions in accordance with established financial and operational plans and goals pertaining to cost effectiveness and efficient management. 

·         Provides on-call coverage for evenings, nights, and weekends when needed and functions as an EMT, Paramedic, or PHRN when required based on staffing levels

 

·         Performs other duties as assigned.


 

Knowledge

·         Applicable BLS, ALS or MICU service levels, clinical practices, procedures and protocols

·         Providing guidance to field associates as related to patient care and general operations

·         Communicating effectively at all levels, both orally and in writing

·         Assists in planning, coordinating and scheduling work assignments and time off

·         Preparing clear and concise reports, documents and records

·         Driving emergency vehicle.

Certification(s) and/or License(s)

·         Valid State of Pennsylvania EMT-P, PHRN, or  EMT Certification

·         Successful completion of Incident management training

·         Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License

·         Emergency Vehicle Operators Course Completion

·         EMT’s must maintain BCLS certification

·         EMT’s, EMT-P’s and PHRN’s must maintain all state and organizational required  certifications

Education and/or Experience

·         High school graduate or equivalent

·         Completion of two (2) years of college or equivalent combination of education and directly-related experience

·         Completion of course work and certification as an EMT-Paramedic, PHRN, or EMT

·         A minimum of five (5) years of field experience as an EMT-Paramedic, PHRN, or EMT within the organization, or EMS background with supervisory experience with another EMS agency

 

·         Completion of a course in basic supervisory and management skills, or attainment of such training within six (6) months of appointment
