- Join Our Team
As part of its Marketing and Development program, Cetronia Ambulance Corps organizes and hosts major fundraising events throughout the year which generate funds that are reinvested back into our sophisticated EMS system and help us to sustain our life-saving mission.
"Health on Wheels" Gala
Cetronia's brand on "Health on Wheels" has been built through thousands of very real episodes of our nationally accredited High Performance EMS system in action. We celebrate the difference our system has made in our communities each year with a black-tie gala that is held the first Saturday in May. The "Health on Wheels" Gala is a night filled with fun and excitement, a casino night, friendship, and many opportunities to win raffle prizes or bid on exclusive auction items provided by friends and staff of Cetronia Ambulance Corps.
Our inaugural gala was held at Allentown Symphony Hall in 2010, with the theme being "Join the Cause" to launch our capital campaign. Since then, guests joined us for a night of nostalgia at the America on Wheels Museum where we had the opportunity to showcase a vintage 1950s Buick ambulance; at The Lodge at The NB Center for American Automotive Heritage where guests had the rare opportunity to view the private automobile collection of Nicola Bulgari; and at Vault 634 - a Jaindl Properties' restoration and renovation of the former Lehigh Valley Bank building in downtown Allentown.
This year, we are back at The Lodge at The NB Center for American Automotive Heritage and its beautiful landscape, and are excited for a glamorous night of casino fun and great friends! The Great Ambulance Chase 5K Run & Walk
In 2012, Cetronia Ambulance Corps and the Young Lawyer's Division of the Bar Association of Lehigh County formed a partnership and hosted the "Great Ambulance Chase", a 5K run and walk at the Lehigh Valley Zoo. Today, the event is held on the grounds of our new Joint Operations Center and the Lehigh County Fields that neighbor it. Initially, the event was formed because Cetronia identified a need to purchase a new "Andy the Ambulance", a robotic replica of a Cetronia Ambulance that is used as part of our unique youth outreach and education initiatives. Thanks to a generous sponsorship from Capital BlueCross and success of our first event, we were able to purchase a new Andy as well as education and programming materials.
The "Great Ambulance Chase" is held on a Saturday morning to launch National EMS Week (the third week in May) and is a way to bring awareness to EMS and communicate the need for community support. Following the 5K run, there is a 5K walk in which families can walk together and the course is stroller friendly. The event is designed to be family friendly and features a day of food and fun before and after the run/walk. "Andy the Ambulance" always makes an appearance to raffle off a prize - either a classroom pizza party or a CPR certification course. Each year, proceeds from the "Great Ambulance Chase" are used to support the many youth and community education programs offered by Cetronia Ambulance Corps.
